a thread of stupid questions i get asked as a hijab-wearer and the answers i give to confuse the asker:

“are you bald under there?”
“nah but i have bald patches”

“do you shower in that?”
“yeah i use hijab & shoulders what about you?”

“do you sleep in that?”
“yeah but only because this one time i superglued it to my head”

“what colour is your hair?”
“green. no, pink - or wait maybe... yeah it was purple last i checked.”

“how long is your hair?”
“have you ever seen tangled? yeah a bit longer than rapunzels”

“have you got a bomb in there?” (yes people actually ask this as a joke and think it’s funny)
“sis i can barely fit my hair in there”

“can your brothers see your hair?”
i usually reply with either one. of these:
“depends if their eyes are open or not”
or
“what hair?”
