I wanted to be a human rights lawyer or a youth community worker, this came from bring a LAC young person, and having agencies involved in my life. The first month of my exams I became homeless at 16 and was moved to a new home.
I sat my exams and passed the level wasn't the best but I passed, at 17 I left school and in my last panel, I asked for support to get a job, somehow SW @HighlandCouncil together with @LochaberHigh Edu and SDS @skillsdevscot pulled it off. I got an apprenticeship under the MCMC.
I finished college and my apprenticeship in one year, left my placement and applied for an NC in community work in a different city, fell pregnant and was supported to finish my course by @BarnardosScot. Completed my graded unit 3 days after I gave birth and I passed to do a HNC.
Finished the HNC @Glasgow_Clyde with a new baby, almost homeless and moved into a new house with the help of aftercare and social work and my lecturer.Went to uni to do a BA community Development @UofGlasgow I failed my desertation the first time due to the pressure of everything.
My peers were celebrating and I felt down, I submitted it again in Aug and eventually passed. I was unemployed and got a job 4 months spported by @JobCenterPlus later working within a local Authority supporting young people with their destinations in Glasgow #NoWrongPath
I hope this thread shows the number of agencies who worked to support my path. And who have today displayed the amazing support they give our young people on Scotland.
