Listen, here’s some of the most important advice you’ll ever get from me:

Figure out what you love doing - the thing that doesn’t feel like work and you’d do for free for the sheer joy - and then figure out a way to build a business from it. Start small, a little bit at a time.
It doesn’t matter if you only make $1 your first few months or a year. Just build it on your own without taking money from anyone. Make it yours, give no one else ownership. Sacrifice to make sure you have the time and resources to keep building it, bit by bit.
At some point, people will tell you it’s dumb/unrealistic/whatever. Do NOT listen to them. Follow your passion and keep going.

In early days, it’s about leaning. Take risks, try things, don’t be afraid to fail. This is how you learn, adapt, and grow.
Keep plugging away and eventually you’ll build something that can support you. Not overnight - mine took years - but just stay focused and don’t let the minor challenges or obstacles deter you. You’re playing the long game, not the short one.
Eventually you’ll be able to leave your day job. Trust me, you’ll be terrified to take that leap. But just remember that every single person who has done it before you has been terrified too. Being on your own, having no one to answer to, is scary. But better than the alternative
When you get there through hard work and perseverance, and you don’t give anyone else control or an ownership stake, THAT’S when you become uncancelable. You don’t have to make FU money to be uncancelable. You just have to have control over your own destiny.
I know millionaires who are afraid of being cancelled because they haven’t done this. Their continued success relies on other people with power over them. And people are inherently flawed. Given enough time, they will almost always let you down (or worse, sell you out).
Creating and cultivating your own business is one of the best ways to be free. It’s a ton of work with years of toil and sacrifice. It’s not always fun. You’ll want to quit. But if you push past all of that, you’ll be free to do work you love every day. And that’s invaluable.
