I watched Black is King last night. I cried through the first 10 mins or so. In AWE of @Beyonce & her beautiful art. This is a masterpiece. Let me say, I’m a stan, a proud member of the Bey-Hive - however this moved in a different way than I even expected #BlackIsKing (1/6)
I took notes through almost all of it. If you haven’t watched it yet. Please do, and those educators who have already watched it, I would LOVE to hear your thoughts. There were so many moments that made me think of my love of my kids and my people. #BlackIsKing (2/6)
The quotes that stuck out to me the most: Let black be synonymous with glory

Our ancestors hold us from within our own bodies guiding us through our reflections

To live without reflection for so long might make you wonder if you even truly exist. (3/6) #BlackIsKing
We need to show black men and women are emotional, are strong, smart, intuitive.

Follow your light

The king is representative of you, it’s representative of the soul

Beyoncé reminds me I still have real dreams to dream and also make happen. Sometimes we believe adulthood confines us to reality solely and not to the beauty in believing in dreams.

Beyoncé dreams outloud in a manner that requires black women like to me to do the same. This is artwork that breathes light and power to my soul. I don’t know about anyone else but I needed this. The ancestors are speaking too loud to ignore. (6/6) #BlackIsKing
