being gay but not knowing that yet is the weirdest experience like u literally grow up and life happens to all your peers but not to you and you just have no idea why
it’s hard for straight people to grasp how deeply this affects us. it’s not just about sex, it’s our identity. and there’s such a huge disconnect between our identities and who we think we are, that it really distorts how we mature and connect with our peers as we grow up
and the fact i’ve been out for 5 years now, happily so, and still feel this gaping longing for teen years spent in some confused haze feeling completely disconnected from everyone around me....that shit don’t magically heal when we find ourselves
