And the older I get, the more I consciously do keep a separation between myself and light skin Black Americans because we need to be honest. Light skin folks do NOT live the same life experiences as dark skin folks even in a country like the US with the one drop rule

Since people wanna bitch and complain about how oh Black Americans keep policing Blackness um 1) we should at least in the US and 2) not every Black American person abides by the one drop rule

No ones goes to other counties and complain about how they classify race but the second someone here wants to call out Caribbean/mixed race/Afro-Latinx/other folks of African descent who tend to tether the line of Blackness and use it when it’s convenient it’s a problem. K.
