Hi, friends. The world is horrible so let’s look at beautiful things.

Today we’re in California for another edition of Arch Digest Home Wars.
It’s Jen Aniston (2018) v Maria Sharapova (2019)
As usual, we will compare the homes side-by-side. Jen first and Maria second.
Both women have very clear style aesthetics and a love for Japanese architecture which you’ll see come through in their homes.

Pick your favourites.
The exterior.

Let’s start outside and work our way indoors. (This view is from the rear of Jen’s home.)
The landscape.

Maria’s entry garden features Japanese Pine.
The pools.

They both love to entertain and you’ll see that in the flow of the houses.
Let’s move inside, shall we?

The living rooms.
Unfortunately we don’t get to see every aspect of each house so in some instances I’ll have to compare different spaces.

Jen’s terrace v Maria’s dining room
The kitchens.

(Shoutout to Jen’s pizza oven).
They both emphasised that comfort is very important to them with Maria saying for her “...uncluttered means healthy. If you don’t use something, you don’t need it.”
The bedrooms.

Jen has dogs so her home is also built for the comfort of her pooches, hence those beanbags.
This is the only angle of Maria’s bedroom I could find.
The bathrooms.

I enjoy these a lot. Jen’s opens out into an outdoor shower and feels like you’re at a spa and Maria’s feels like a weekend escape to your favourite AirBnB.
Home offices.

Jen’s office is a separate room while Maria’s office space is in a guest bedroom.
Some extra Jen home content.

A powder room, garden off the master bedroom and her pool by night.
Sharap! It’s Ova!

Includes her entry way, a bowling alley and upstairs landing.
