In #Zimbabwe a packet of Sanitary Pads costs on average $84,99 at a local supermarket. So, if a person is on their period for seven days and uses on average two sanitary pads a day, it means they will require two packs of pads every month amounting to $169,98.

The reality is most people in the country cannot afford this - this leaves them with no choice but to resort to unhygienic materials (old clothes, newspapers, cow dung, leaves) to manage their periods. This leaves them exposed to infection and disease
