Trying to think of a videogame topic for my Sociology thesis~

Any ideas? Hah, I'm stumped.
Something about how people take it for granted and just focus on it being fun.

Or maybe more on video games having the potential to create social change within society.
It can unite people and create a subculture of people who think alike- whether it's framed in a positive light or negatively remains to be seen.

But the point is people are shaped just as much through video games as they do by social media.
Will keep contributing to this thread the more thoughts come to me.

I really hope this will work out.
I remember growing up that my schoolmates were all raving about the PS1, PS2 and how every household had to have one.

Mind you, my family wasn't wealthy or anything but there was something about owning one that just made me feel like I belonged.
Almost like a difference in race, class or religion was bridged (not literally) and we had something else in common.

The industry's creations are becoming more expensive and technologically advanced but that feeling of similarity and inclusion persists.
Then there's the functionalist aspect of videogames. They're seeing more use in the education sector and job training simulations.

The economic contributions it makes because it's a competitive and lucrative business.
