Hey parents/carer!

We get that you might be feeling nervous about your young persons job prospects due to the recent instability of the labour market and school disruption due to covid.

We're here to help! We're a free careers advice and support service and we can help with:
1. Helping your young person to build their confidence. To identify their skills, interests and abilities to figure out what they want to do for a career. We can help them to plan ahead and work out a career path that works for them.
2. Find places for them to re-take or build on their current qualifications. For some people, school is wonderful and for others, smaller educational providers are much better at offering tailored support.
3. Finding them work experience, volunteering and opportunities to grow their CV whilst exploring different potential industries.
4. Working with them to create honest yet impressive CV's, application forms, cover letters and preparing them for interviews. If advocacy is needed then we are more than happy to offer this! Sometimes we can even fund travel to interviews or interview clothes!
5. Making sure that they are job ready! This means figuring out whats holding the back and working with them to overcome these barriers. This could be that mental health worries, transport issues, not knowing how to disclose that they are LGBTQ+ on the application form etc.
6. Working with them to get their zest for life back. Helping them to identify their passions and find jobs that reflect these!
7. Helping them to learn about themselves and what they need out of a workplace. This can be boundary setting or finding tools that boost their productivity. This helps to minimise the risk of burnout later on in life!
The above is a just a flavour of the support that we offer. We get to know each client first and then support later. This means that we can create a service that is tailored to their needs. If we can't help then we probably know someone else who can!
We are free and can either meet up for a walk and talk or chat on the phone/email. If you would like to find out more about how we can help your young person, drop us a message!
