Has Sanctification too long been neglected within Evangelicalism?

Jesus taught that those made in God’s Image should mirror his Holiness: “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48
Jesus was also brutally scathing when it came to religious hypocrisy.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of the bones of the dead and every kind of impurity.” Matthew 23:27
My biggest concern for myself is that I be holy, that I look like Jesus on the inside and on the outside, that I avoid hypocrisy.

We are not perfect. We are sinners. That is why Jesus died for our sins. We find forgiveness in his blood.

But He still calls us to pursue Holiness.
Has Sanctification been neglected within Evangelicalism? I have long been concerned about this.

If I could classify the 5 most important doctrines requiring recovery today, they would be:

1. Theology Proper
2. Christology
3. Anthropology
4. Discipleship
5. Sanctification

You?
Nota Bene: These five are presented in no particular order of importance for recovery. They are integrally intertwined with one another, even while they are ontologically grounded in Theology Proper and Christology.
