(THEORY THREAD)

It seems like the flower card (Ashbless cards) as we mentioned before will play a much bigger role in the future of the BU storyline. The flower card, depending on how it's turned (upright or upside down), can represent different meanings. +
We know from the fifth story that the florist had originally posted on his blog that there's a card created by the Italian aristocrat and poet, William Ashbless. According to the story, Ashbless was inspired by the story of love entwined with the Smeraldo from an old woman.
He happened to also really loved creating playing cards to present at salons to the court and nobles. As a result, he not only ended up creating the flower's name, Smeraldo, he also ended up creating a new card called the Ashbless card, or the flower card, as most of us know it.
The meaning of 'The Flower Card' is as follows: when in the correct direction, it signifies 'bearing fruit', 'blooming' (like beauty). However, when shown in the opposite direction, it signifies 'the fall', 'the end', 'a new start'.
Furthermore, we also know that the city in which the original story of the Smeraldo flowers legend took place was in a city called "city of Smeraldo", which in Italian is "La cittĂ  di Smeraldo". Coincidentally, the Italian name for city of Smeraldo also
correlates to the Italian title of the 6th Wizard of Oz book (La cittĂ  di Smeraldo di Oz) in L. Frank Baum's fourteen Land of Oz books.
Now, many ARMYs probably already know this, but we can see the Smeraldo flower on the album covers of the LY Her and LY tear albums when connected together. Specifically, what we're seeing here is essentially "the flower card".
When placed right side up, the card represents fruitfulness and beauty (LY Her), when placed upside down, the card represents ending and falling (LY Tear).

Now, lately, we've all been wondering about this one question. How is Jin going to find the map of the soul?
How are the boys going to help him find the map of the soul?

The answer is: Face Yourself.

They have to face themselves, play their cards right. Turn their cards right side up.

Most importantly, they have to play their flower cards right.
See, because in the original eighth story (the original story has been deleted long ago and replaced with a new revised version, so credit to remembering the original eighth story goes to http://thebtseffect.com ), The florist mentions how a young man had ordered one bouquet of
Smeraldo flowers. Turns out, it was Seokjin. Later on, Seokjin explains that the reason he wants to buy these flowers, is because he wants to be a good person, which as we all know, has always been his dream in BU.
However, it's obvious later on in the highlight reel that after obtaining the bouquet of Smeraldo flowers, he never ended up delivering it successfully to the person he wanted to deliver it to (which is the girl that dropped the red book or his anima as we can assume)
Now, here's the important part. The key to this whole thing.

The florist then says he wonders what would have happened if Jin had revealed his sincere feelings for his own friend.
The florist says that’s one reason for his work with Smeraldos, to help others deliver their true feelings.

So from this, we know that Jin was actually NOT sincere with his feelings for his friends. Even though we've only ever seen him try to deliver Smeraldo flowers
to the girl he liked (or his anima), we know that the Smeraldo flowers also symbolize "the truth that cannot be told".

This probably explains why Jin keeps failing to find the map of the soul, and why he keeps failing to break the cycle of travelling back in time that he's
stuck in.

Because he's not only putting up a persona when he's around his friends and others, hiding his true genuine feelings, and what he really wants to say from them, he's also not true to HIMSELF.

He continues to hold his flower card upside down, therefore, failing to see
the other side of the flower card, which would allow him to grow and move on, instead of continuously restarting only to keep falling.

Remember how we mentioned that he's continuously felt guilty for betraying his friends back when they were in high school?

If Jin never comes to terms with his Shadow self and learns to overcome his fears of showing his true feelings for his friends and finally telling them the truth about why he's always trying to avoid telling them the truth.

Then perhaps he'll finally be able to find
the map of the soul.

They need to find the flower card and use it correctly.

Jin can't do it alone because he's blinded by his shadow. Instead of embracing his shadow self, he continues to see it as his worst enemy (because he is his own worst enemy).
Therefore, this time his friends will have to help him come to face the truth and find the map of the soul.

But why did I specifically mention the Wizard of Oz?

Because I know many ARMYs probably have made similar theories before about BU's connection with wizard of Oz, and
in wizard of Oz, the story is also pretty similar.

At the beginning of the story, Dorthy meets a scarecrow, a tin man, and a coward lion. At first, they all had their own problems to solve and their own fears as well as desires.
The scarecrow felt sad because he wanted a brain to think with. The lion was sad because he wanted to be more courageous instead of being a coward all the time. The tin man was sad because he didn't have a heart to feel with.
However, at the end of the story, they each manage to overcome their own fears together, and at the end, they finally reach the emerald city, and Dorthy's wish comes true: she finally gets to go home (or in this case, wake up from her dream).
Similarly, Jin, along with the rest of his friends, have their own wishes, their own fears, and obstacles to overcome. The problem now however, is that they aren't overcoming this obstacles together. They're not working together, and therefore explains why Jin continuously fails
to break out of the cycle. Jin can't go home or wake up from this cycle like dorthy until he gets the courage to be true to himself and to others.

Because unless you're true to your feelings, the smeraldo flower won't work. It only works for people who are true to themselves
and to others. It only works for people who deliver their true feelings to others.

Otherwise, the smeraldo flower will forever remain a truth that cannot be told (because you are blinded by your shadow + ego and afraid to speak the truth).
Jin's dream is to become a good person, but he forgot that he can't just put up a persona OF a good person. If he isn't truly a good person to himself and he's merely just trying to be a good person for other people's sake (like in the case of making his father proud but at
the price of betraying his friends), he's never actually going to become the good person he wants to be.
This is why "Don't leave me" lyrics from the "face yourself" album is so significant
