New Season - New Hopes - Probably same crushed dreams…

But there are few things I hope will improve my game this year and they are collected in this thread of threads that I find helpful - from some helpful #FPL accounts…

Hope it can inspire some of you…

First up is analysis of the big players e.g. @shivaFPL analysis of last seasons winners way of playing.

https://twitter.com/ShivaFPL/status/1287812215878410246, as you will see later many of @toogoodFPL choices is controversial and against much advise showing that you can deviate from a plan

Also @fplswede posted a thread on a previous #1. We see another pattern, except that it is pretty consistent that they do not take hits, even though some recommend them…One thing that stands out is the consistency in having a core group of players…

This leads directly to decision fatigue - here described by @roneildinho in an uncharacteristic short thread😉

I also get decision fatigue. To limit this and sharpen the focus I get my self a core of players so only very few players needs rotation.

Another couple of reads I want to highlight is how we get to 2500 points - could be so nice to try once. @EricDFreeman made this learning piece of info… Last season he collected all his threads in one - so go follow...

When you have read this, you know that it makes sense to read Eric’s stuff, so here’s another on learnings on the many mistakes he (and I) have made over the years. It hurts but its true.

For this season I have bookmarked some threads I also think needs a reread. First @fplstatoholics thread on the position I hate the most…the GoalKeeper (I made 153 points on that position last season)

When we start with our 💯ITB it is really only 36 as all have minimum prices. @FPLRatchet has made a nice little thread on this that gives perspective to your transfer strategies. A thing I will use in the many weeks of tinkering..

But we also have some new teams playing along and there seems to be a lot of love (and hate) for Leeds and there are two threads on that club that I include…

First from @FPL_Jord : https://twitter.com/FPL_Jord/status/1284870533545328640

I don’t know if @fplswede is also a Leeds fan, but the thread is good nevertheless;

The next new club we see is WBA. The baggies have many fans also in this #FPL community and of course they also have threads. One I found good was from Dan ( @CoysFPL )

(he also has one for Leeds BTW)

Much love for WBA out there and a growing interest in maxing up in the midfield, playing 4-5-1 or 3-5-2. So I include @FPLredman thread on the WBA midfielders;

Now talking about formations @mccollio09 made an interesting piece on why you should never deviate from 3-4-3 or 4-4-2 when choosing that important initial squad

Dan has promised a thread on Brentford and @FPLfuture made one :-) https://twitter.com/FplFuture/status/1289603882373378048. As a Dane I have a sweet spot for a club with dansih manager team and many young danes playing, but maybe I can get players for more than sentiment??

Approaching the end of my pre-season reading. I will most likely live up to the tag and Fail again…and that brings me to the most important advice.

Have fun, don’t take it personal when your Triple Captian gives a -3… it is just a game.

Best of 2020/21 to you all
