people really get mad at black artists for drawing mostly if not only black peoples as we aren’t constantly surrounded by art of white people. we don’t get the representation so we make our own, no one bats an eye when someone draws only white people, but when we do it, it’s bad

like growing up, there was only ONE black character in a show. and we had to sit there and be “grateful”. now, we’re putting out work of the things we never got to see for people like us. don’t you dare try and act like we’re the bad guys for trying to bring some color

i will never stop drawing mostly black people bc i need to get it out there to some black kid that someone’s making art that looks like them. that someone’s adding more depth to black characters than the track star and the white girls bff. let us make our stories
