@ ppl who know better than me: is there a correlation to the rising popularity to non-western pop culture and said countries economical growth? Like in mid 00s me & all my peers was all abt japan pop culture and now it’s all abt Kpop and recently I’ve seen a lot of Chinese stuff.

I haven’t looked this up at all it’s just a thought that struck me like right now.

And due to character limit: I mean “rising popularity” as in we in the west suddenly think kpop or Japanese animation is worth our attention. Like idk how to describe this but I hope y’all get what I mean ;-;
