Easier said than done but don’t think about whatever it is that’s triggering you. Instantly shift what’s on your mind to something else, ideally something more positive. You might find yourself thinking about whats triggering you again, but you’ll just need to shift focus again
Listen to MUSIC
Happy music. Shit that makes you feel good.
Sometimes the sad shit helps bc it helps you embrace what you’re feeling and feel it more but if your goal is to boost your mood, listen to vibrant & happy songs or even instrumentals to relax.

Go outside.
Sitting in the house all day ain’t it. You’ll find yourself overthinking even more and probably falling even deeper into your depression. Some days you’ll literally have to force yourself to do this but it’s worth it.

Sounds kinda eh.. but naw the tv provides a distraction even when you don’t realize it. If you are sitting in the house then don’t do it in silence. If you ain’t listening to music then have the tv playing for background distractions. Or watch one of ya fav shows

Write & burn.
I don’t mean typing on your phone. Actually pick up a pen or pencil and start writing what you feel on paper. Burn it after to release it.

It’s not really the best place to be when you falling into a depressive state but it’s also the easiest place to be. A break can be a relief

Like a dark room, a dirty room can fuck ya mood up too. Well, at least a clean one can help it lol.
Put up some art, sit by some plants, light some candles or something. Shit.

Call out of work. Put your phone on dnd. Chill out & give yourself, your brain and body a break. Cancel plans. Might feel like you’re letting someone down by doing any of this but let them down. Ya mental health comes first.

Usually ppl wanna be alone but sometimes ppl you love distract you from the dark cloud that you see coming & can brighten your day
