A Story Thread on #FutureOfJobs

Why should the future of job be something to do with AI, Data Sciences, & 23 order buzz words?

My school mate, Raghu did a diploma in mechanical engineering right after std 10. Over the years, he's one of the best CNC Lathe/Milling operator

See how MacBook is made for CNC reference

back to Raghu, He has so far lived and worked in Malaysia, India and now in Austria!

None of them are on Twitter or even on Linkedin 😅
2/
Raghu now works like 6 hours a day, lives in a movie-looking-scenic place in Austria, at company's expenses.

The company flew him just before lockdown with an expedited arrangement, that's how Effing rare is to find someone like him.

But guess what
3/
His English is what it was in Std10. He can't tell Cloud and on-prem apart, or bother about what LinkedIn's "Future of Job survey" says.

And my other buds, Ashwith is a CFO in making at Dubai, Sreekar is a mechanical engineer in Germany for an Energy company.
4/
All my 3 non-tech friends are kicking ass and doing so well; while not even bothering to be on any social media platform, or have fancy GitHub profiles or overflowing ranks on Stackoverflow

in short, they are not even counted by these job surveys!
5/
The research and data sets used by tech platforms is a bubble, a massive echo chamber.

Conclusion: Break the bubble, just pop it. For yourself, and if you have children / cousins. Let'em excel in what they want.

There are infinite choices in #FutureOfJobs.
