Kishore Kumar sang a total of 2678 Hindi Songs in 1198 films out of which 1142 were solo songs. Among duet songs, he sang the maximum with Asha Bhosle(687) followed by her sister Lata Mangeshkar(343). R.D.Burman was the music director in 563 of these songs.

His 245 songs across 91 films were picturized on Rajesh Khanna- a record for a singer-actor combination

Once Lata Mangeskar couldn't report for a recording.This gave an idea to the eccentric Kishore Kumar- "Why not sing both the male and the female part of a duet?"-which he did. Interestingly enough the female voice was picturized on himself ! Aake Seedhi Lagi from Half Ticket

The song-'Ek Chatur Naar' from cult classic - Padosan was inspired from a song originally sang by Kishore's elder brother Ashok Kumar in a 1941 film- Jhoola.The Padosan one featured a jugalbandi between him n Manna Dey in which he had to defeat Dey

He first declined by saying ”How can I defeat Mannada? He is the guru of classical singing. Manna Dey was also a bit upset that he would be defeated in the end. All this led to many improvisations during recording which made into the final song

He started his career-not as a singer- but as an actor n continued to act in 88 films,many of which he himself produced n directed. This left him with very little time to sing for himself. So his contemporaries like Mohd. Rafi,Hemant Kumar n Manna Dey used to step up for him.
