My favorite thing about the Crucible storyline - which was partially on Chikara AAW, an indie wrestling show WWE planned to pick up but instead outright stole ideas for as seen with #RawUnderground - is the way it gradually became introduced to fans as a storyline.

Unlike how this whole #RawUnderground thing is suddenly dropping onto the WWE Universe out of nowhere, the Crucible storyline had actually built itself up over the course of several months. It had began development outside of shows first via ARG format.
Initially, fans of Chikara came across it themselves. A fan tried to look up the names of older Chikara shows on YouTube and instead got videos of men fighting in a ropeless ring surrounded by other fighters (some in masks) banging on the ring - sound familiar #RawUnderground?
This first came up in January 2019, but you can still find the footage today right here: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheCrucibleReveals
Note the phrase "The fire reveals what the flesh conceals" - that's important! Plus it might be another thing #RawUnderground steals at this point, who knows.

Being one of the fans that had heard about the videos when word first broke out about them was wild, we knew nothing at first. Looking up that phrase found us two more things:
1) A website for the Crucible that had a merch shop.
2) A series of vlogs from someone in the videos.

They were made by @xavierfaraday, who not only was editor of the later "Heralds & Harbingers" mini-series about the Crucible, but also the writer of the Crucible storyline as a whole.
If you enjoyed #RawUnderground tonight, thank him.

As fans, with no info handed to us - just notes of things we found being passed around with each other - it was super exciting. I don't know if WWE's ever done ARG things but it doesn't look like #RawUnderground will involve that either way, which is definitely a downgrade.
I won't spoil anything from the Crucible storyline, because it's seriously beautiful storytelling in wrestling told through a unique way that I believe everyone should see. No matter what WWE tries to do with #RawUnderground, there's no way they'll outdo what they got it from.

(Please excuse rambling tendancies in this thread, I wanted to put info about this topic soon as I could in hopes of it reaching people who should know. It breaks my heart these folks worked so hard for less than nothing & got this slap in the face when they're already hurting.)
