For @DanTehanWannon to call the survival of the childcare sector one of the government’s success stories of the pandemic, he must be very remote from what is happening.

If the childcare sector survived the pandemic (and frankly the jury is still out on that) it is because educators lost hours and wages, services worked really hard to maintain their operation, financial reserves were eaten into.

We need to find services, not subsidise parents.

If we don’t we will constantly need adhoc rescue packages. Our childcare system is not fit for purpose.
