5 reasons why it had been difficult to remove the ruling VAMPIRE elites
1. No matter how bad they are they always have some supporters and sympathizers among the population. These can frustrate/ thwart attempts to remove them

2.They have infiltrated all of the key institutions needed to remove them – the judiciary, security forces, civil service, etc.
3.Back then ethnicity/religion not a problem. So people from smaller tribes could lead a liberation struggle – Nyerere, Nkrumah

4.The colonialists were foreigners and different from us. We could see whom we were fighting.
5.Our objective was clear in the 1950s – freedom, independence. Today the objectives are murkier. Human rights? Explain that to the village folks - @ayittey
