Far-Right grifter + Qanon conspiracy theorist Michael Meyer, who despite not being a veteran leads "Veterans on Patrol," is now targeting @NoMoreDeaths. Meyer has previously attacked water tanks belonging to humanitarian groups, claiming they are part of Soros backed conspiracy.

BORTAC was one of the special units along with ICE, DHS, and CBP, who were send by the Trump administration to put down the ongoing #BlackLivesMatter

In 2017, No More Deaths was targeted by a similar raid, resulting in the trial of several volunteers. The deployment of BORTAC + other law enforcement agencies against @NoMoreDeaths + protesters in #Portland has the same logic - to smash off the streets those who would challenge the regime - using the upmost brutality if necessary. This has nothing to do with "stopping violence."
In fact, these law enforcement agencies not only utilize massive amounts of violence in their day to day operations, but fundamentally exist to uphold and protect systemic institutions that fundamentally need violence to operate.
But as popular support of groups like No More Deaths and for the ongoing rebellion in #Portland shows - there is growing support for movements that affirm human solidarity against the brutality of white supremacy, the State, and the exploitation of capital.
This is why conspiracy theories like Qanon are so important. This is also why idiots and grifters like Meyer get arrested repeatedly but never see real jail time while volunteers at @NoMoreDeaths risk years behind bars for saving lives. Far-Right violence is in-line with the regime and its own violence; it does not destabilize the State.
On the other hand, movements that utilize tactics at the disposal of the entire proletariat: essentially anything that generalizes mass disruption and collective + individual refusal - are painted as "terrorism" - because they have the power to stop the reproduction of society.
"Not all violence is equal. There is the violence that is permitted. This is the violence that comes from above, that arrives in police bullets + drone strikes. There is the violence that is encouraged, that comes from below and is aimed at those even more below it..."
Then, there is the 'violence' that is exceptional. This is any collective or individual action that affirms the interests of those below in the face of those above while attempting to stop the machine.
