@DanThurot is one of the best writers in the business. This is from a really good thread about impostor syndrome, thinking that you're not good enough to be where you are. I'd like to share an anecdote about just continually trying, even when you feel like you're terrible: https://twitter.com/DanThurot/status/1290462886314364929
We had a leader in our church over multiple congregations, a very involved responsibility which usually lasts about 10 years. I loved watching him stay true to his character, but become a little softer after working with people for so long. When I worked with him, I heard him
change his favorite leadership quote from "If you're not going to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it again?" to "Let people do a bad job, because when people do a bad job, they learn. If you never let them do a bad job, you rob that person of learning."
Some days, I think I'm doing terrible and should probably quit podcasting. But, everyone's allowed to struggle and have bad days. It's better that we keep trying, even if we're not as good as we feel like we should be.
I listen back to episodes I thought I did I terrible on. It often ends up being just as good as any other episode. Sometimes better. Who knows why we're such bad judges of ourselves. But, don't listen to that voice that says you're not good enough. Even if you're doing a bad job.
