How to start a YouTube channel from 0?

I'm no expert, but I started in January 2020 and I was able to grow to almost 4,000 subscribers in 7 months. Here are some tips to help you not struggle at the beginning like I did 😊

A thread 🧵👇
1. Most important thing for any YouTube channel is quality audio! If you are going to invest in anything, it should be a Microphone 🎙️. My favorite is the Blue Yeti, but if you don't have that much to spend do, some research and you can get a decent lavalier mic for ~$20

2. Consistency is key 🔑. The algorithm will start to show your videos more the longer you stay consistent. I would recommend a minimum of 1x a week, and more often if you can!

3. BE PATIENT! YouTube is a lot harder to grow than most other social platforms. It requires lots of work and consistency. You have to be in YouTube for the long run to see results! It took me over a month to get my first 100 subscribers!

4. Advertise everywhere! First thing you need is for people to get eyes on your content. It won't just happen by itself. Friends and family is a great place to start. Reddit and Facebook have been my top places to advertise. Find appropriate groups where your info is valued!👇
5. Provide Value! Just like any other platform, people will only subscribe or follow you if you provide value to them. This means cut out all the filler and be concise with the info you're trying to give. Edit out the "ums" and don't waste the viewers time

BONUS TIP: If you don't want to buy an expensive camera, try out https://obs.camera/docs/getting-started/ios-camera-plugin-usb/.

For $16 you can turn your phone into a video input for OBS Studio. And it will be relatively high quality. (I still use it to this day)
