Mississippi released the huge list of submissions of new state flag designs.

Northern Mockingbirds (their state bird) is on tons of submissions! I also saw Great Egret, Wood Duck, and Bald Eagle.

There's even this *squints* bird.

There is a, let's say, variety of artistic skills on display for these submissions. Including some unlikely to make the final cut.
Lots of folks used the Mockingbird, though, which is nice even though I am long on the record that it is a garbage state bird and should be changed.
Yes, they all must include the words "In God We Trust" but there's nothing stopping you from thinking that the God here is the mockingbird, you know?
this one appears to be based on an old Washington Capitals NHL logo and is just an absolute nightmare
Mississippi: Mostly Just Dirt
many of the Mockingbird flags appear to have come from youngsters, which is heartwarming (even if this kid may have accidentally been on the Clark's Nutcracker page of the field guide)
In all, this page is a pretty severe indictment of a system that continually cuts funding for arts education. Good luck to all the participants!
