Why I love Reinhardt, this will be a long thread.

Starting off I just really like his overall design. The whole cloak and clothes, along with the strapped master sword and dire thunder tome is just really nice. He also has a combination of both my two favourite weapons. Cnt.
Swords and Magic. Thunder magic is also my favourite anima magic. And on top of that, he has my favourite class in the game, mage knight. Next, as a unit in game. He's a boss who comes with a fearsome statline, dire thunder, 5 leadership and mov stars, and 4 powerful skills. Cnt.
Having adept and accost mainly boosts his master sword use allowing several beyond several attacks, vantage allows him to assault you first, and pavise (on a calvary unit??) makes it so he might just ignore damage. Unfortunately his combat is rarely seen due to... cnt.
Thracia's mechanics allowing not only the entire map to be skipped, but for reinhardt to be put to sleep, beserked, and anything like such. But that's besides the point. His fearsome ability was well demonstrated in feh. Next up is his character, cnt.
Reinhardt is a camus archetype. Most of this is inferred, and sorta in between the lines but yeah. Loyal to his country, and mainly ishtar, Reinhardt knows he is on the wrong side an feels remorse over it. He likely helps her in freeing of children. Cnt
Reinhardt likely didn't want to do what he does but remains loyal to ishtar and his commanders. Julius saw this as Reinhardt possibly being able to convince Ishtar to go against his wishes and eventually desert him. (She was already helping children however.) Cnt
Eventually, Reinhardt is seperated from ishtar and remains to fight Leif. Knowing one of the only people he cared for, his sister, has joined the enemy after a talk with saias (and soon Olwen herself) he fully understood what side of history he was on.
After all this, he had a few options. He could betray his country- mainly ishtar -or continue fighting for the empire and country that has descended into darkness. But he didn't want to do either, and wanted to pay for his life's actions. So he choose option 3. Cnt
Reinhardt gave Olwen his last memento, a final gift as he was parting from her permanently. A gift that was from the person he cared for most, he gave to Olwen. That weapon's in game effects make the perfect weapon to kill him. Reinhardt decided to end his life. Cnt.
If he died, he never betrayed his country, but no longer allows himself to commit dirty deeds. He removed himself from the equation, allowing leif victory to eventually restore the lands to their peace. Allowing his beloved sister to live on. As for ishtar...cnt
I presume he could only hope she made the right move. Reinhardt did what was right without betraying his country outright. His battle quote, "this must be fate...forgive me" indicates his disdain for his actions. He died a hero in his own right. Cnt
For being a character with an overall cool and menacing design, being a reincarnation of Thrud with no holy blood, with a sorrowful tale and resent for his actions leading him to pay the price he chose for himself in the hopes of the victory of others, that is why I love him.
For those of you that read this in full, I greatly appreciate it. It may have been pointless typing this all out, or maybe not many care. But I do really like him.
