About the insanity and missed opportunity related to this special session...

At a time when doctors say we are risking the lives of kids & school staff by bringing them into the building, are we seriously considering a special session to take away a citizens right to seek justice? To make it easier for some to ignore health guidelines? #AreYouKiddingMe

We shouldn’t be creating an unlevel playing field that benefits bad actors over businesses who are investing in safeguards to protect workers and customers. #AreYouKiddingMe

At a time when the whole country cries out for new policies to protect people from police brutality, we are having a special session to protect statues? Yet we refused to hear amendments addressing changes to some police practices a month or so ago? #AreYouKiddingMe

You say we are having a special session for COVID? The only thing here that helps TN families with COVID is the telehealth bill. The others protect statues & serve corporations because the GOP needs their campaign from the NFIB and Chamber of Commerce folks. #AreYouKiddingMe

This makes me sick. I’m happy to come back and find solutions to school reopening problems. Namely that we have NO business reopening when transmission is at 3 1/2 times what every Dr. and public health official says is safe to open schools. #AreYouKiddingMe

I’m happy to come back to expand Medicaid so 750,000 Tennesseans now without access to care can get affordable healthcare and have access to a hospital during a pandemic. So we get $1.4 billion to help keep Tennesseans healthy. But we aren’t talking about that? #AreYouKiddingMe

So the GOP think it’s good strategy to have a special session to make sure regular Tennesseans have no legal recourse when wronged? To make sure statues are protected but not victims of police brutality, kids, teachers, bus drivers, etc. #AreYouKiddingMe

At a time when we are projecting a $1.5 billion deficit, do we really need to spend over $100,000 taxpayer dollars on a summer vacation in Nashville for TN legislators? #AreYouKiddingMe

Are you sure that is the message you really want to send in a pandemic a couple of months before the election? Are those campaign checks that important? More important than lives? #AreYouKiddingMe OK, I will see you there!
