The perception that engineering is merely a technical profession and not an artistic one is part of the problem. Tech nerds who gate keep the profession are part of the problem. Now most are seen not as an essential part of the process but as replaceable cogs. Hence landr.
As technology makes engineering more accessible it should be a renaissance of creativity. Not some fast food mixing service. We need to speak of engineering as an art not as a color by numbers service. Because that’s what it is. We are artists too. We sculpt the sound.
Landr is trying to do to the engineering industry what Uber is trying to do to transportation. They’ll price out competition and then when people rely on their platform they’ll go fully AI. But keep funding them.
