This is a thread I bet a lot of people won't care about and I'm expecting to see some people make comments about certain things teasing me but I really don’t care
So if you wanna read about the struggles of mental health illnesses, you're in the right place
#MentalHealthAwareness
First of all, I just wanna say I really am not using this for any sort of ‘sympathy' or 'clout' because anyone with mental health issues will tell you that they are two things you absolutely do not want when talking openly about this stuff.
Personally, I suffer from a list of different mental health illnesses and I'm sure some people might not have heard of one or two or know that there are more than one definition for some illnesses, for example - anxiety. I suffer from GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) and SAD…
…(Social Anxiety Disorder). Both of which aren't pleasant. GAD is more of a common anxiety disorder that involves constant and chronic worrying, nervousness, and tension. SAD is an intense, persistent fear of being watched and judged by others. This fear can affect work…
school, and your other day to day things and can sometimes make it hard to make and/or keep friends.

I also suffer from clinical depression. Depression is so much more than feeling unhappy or fed up for a few days or even a few weeks. In my life I have spent months where I…
…would go to sleep every night praying I wouldn't wake up in the morning and wake up every morning wishing I hadn’t. I even went as far as attempting to take my own life on multiple occasions and thats where something I want to talk about could get me mocked or made fun of…
Everyone has that one thing that helps them through their depression and mine happened to be the rapper xxxtentacion. I have 3 tattoos in honour of the guy ffs. You may wonder why and how that could possibly help me and its a long story so here are photos I took the day after…
…he died explaining it to people who didn't get it.
Thankfully, I'm in a better place now and while depression never really goes away completely, it certainly does get easier like everyone says it was. And if anyone reading this is going through it, I promise you things will get better... There is a way out for you, I did and…
...you can too, I promise.
The condition I suffer from that some of you may not know exists is something called ‘Borderline Personality Disorder’. The main four things I experience with this illness are:
- Emotional instability
- Disturbed patterns of thinking or perception
- Impulsive behaviour
- Intense but unstable relationships with others
Most people with BPD will have experienced parental neglect or physical, sexual or emotional abuse during their childhood. I wont say which one or ones I've been through myself but they are the typical…
…’reasons’ behind what causes it.

I’m aware that this is already fairly long so I wont bore you with any more details. The main reason for this thread is to help spread awareness but to also show people suffering from mental health illnesses that it is okay to talk about it…
…and I know there’s a lot of stigma around male mental health issues but seriously, it's nothing to be ashamed of... At all… If anyone at all EVER needs someone to talk to whether its just feeling down or as far as feeling s*icidal, my DM's are always open.
In terms of my own 'recovery’ here are my counters for how I'm doing now. Obviously as I said, these things never fully go away and I have them for life, but it does get easier. And if I'm stuck with them for life, what good am I gonna do not talking about it?
Normalise men opening up about mental health issues
84 men a week die by s*icide
75% of all s*icides are male
25% of men live with a metal illness
Men are provenly less likely to get help
Talking about mental health should never be joked or treated as a joke.
