In a Capitalist economy, there's a constant need for an expansion of capital. Capital is something which requires labour to expand.

With workers at home, because of their children, it won't be able to constantly expand.

A delicate social balance is made to appease capital. Adults send their kids to school, so that the kids won't distract them from work, and will also be taught how to become the same, miserable workers as the precious generation.

If you, instead of looking at the schools as schools, start to look at them as capital, and the children as labour. The government is throwing children into a giant meatgrinder to appease capital.
