effort to try & move past the Mush-era PO 2002 & make the police more independent. Durrani was a Shehbaz Sharifs Special Branch Czar. He relied on him heavily. Naturally when JKT 'poached' him with an offer to be IG he took it seeing as how then IG PJB Mushtaq Sukhera wouldn't be

moving anytime soon. In KP Durrani did literally nothing, except a few photo Ops & promote a few weasly folks he was close to. He helped PK throw Ziaullah Afridi under the bus. Launch idiotic patrol force & with PKs insistence illicitly declare Aug 4th KP police martyrs day which

the horrid Safat Ghayoors brother in law Aftab Sherpao asked his one time protege to do, as a condition for rejoining the cabinet. Mehmood Khan's govt after numerous objections has promised to undo it & choose a neutral date yet they still haven't. What else do you expect from a

government where a timber smuggler was DG then Secretary Forests, Arshid Khan a man who openly embezzled (MD KPESE case) & harassed women as Secretary Education & Imtiaz Shah the Secretary Health-an honest to goodness pimp & thief-are given important jobs. Anyhow, Durrani also

gave us the comically named 'Patrol Force.' Was also accused by one of the contractors of having embezzled in it. Before he retired Durrani went out of his way to make sure Akhtar Ali Shah didn't become IG KP despite having the requisite credentials & experience to do so. Also

Shah was retiring in a year. Instead the job went to Salahuddin Mehsud who apart from being junior, spent 8 years outside Pakistan as an attache in the UAE. Durrani actually tried to pin the APS Peshawar intel snafu on Akhtar Ali Shah who subsequently produced the notification

from earlier that August. Just prior to his retirement PK offered Durrani the DGship of the infamous flop-show that was the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC). Durrani quickly bolted back to his home Lahore where he immediately took up a job as a member of the Punjab

Public Service Commission (not even Chairman). Following those events Mr. Cosmetic IG would then be appointed Advisor on Home Affairs in PJB, having been mentioned more than twice in Imran's inaugural address to the nation. Current Commandant NPA Mohammad Tahir was appointed as

IG PJB. Tahir is not only a professional, he is an absolute gentleman & a very decent human being. Durrani took it upon himself to trick Tahir into making appointments he wanted to be made, & intentionally forcing the IG to ignore CM PJB Buzdar recommendations & orders by

claiming he was getting his instructions directly from the PM. Buzdar would raise this issue with the PM. He asked him why he couldn't convey his orders to him instead of Durrani. Imran was taken aback by this. After inquiring a bit he found out exactly what Durrani was up to.

This obviously made him very angry & wanted Durrani gone. Durrani having already caught wind of this resigned & walked having left the IG PJB Mohammad Tahir & Buzdar with a fractured & broken relationship & great mistrust. Tahir was gone soon after. Meanwhile Salahuddin Mehsud, a

tribesman from Waziristan was appointed as IG KP for a second time by Imran. This was significant & needed given how familiar Mehsud was with the customs & challenges of the newly merged tribal districts, & he was genuinely excited to see it moving. Well Azam Khan, a batchmate

of Mehsuds saw differently. The PAS still wanted the Levies & Khassadars to be under PAS control & not integrated into the police despite the courts having ruled otherwise.Both Mehsud & the CS Naveed Kamran were both asked to come into Islamabad & to reverese course on dissolving

Levies & Khassadars into the regular police. Mehsud refused saying he'd already appointed SHOs & identified all the necessary SNEs. Naveed Kamran Baloch also stated it was ordered by the court. Both were removed immediately & Salahuddin replaced with crooked Dr. Naeem, a good

friend of Azam Khan's who had been waiting in the wings. Naeem spent his tenure allowing the time sensitive merger go to waste & mint billions in the process. CM KP Mehmood Khan complained to Imran. Said the corruption was noticeable & gaining attention. Dr. Naeem was quietly

moved along. Now a man from rural Sindh who has never really worked outside the urban sprawl of Karachi is now IG KP. His approach is not tailored to the local demands & tonnes of issues are popping up left & right.And as we know,law enforcement is involved with public engagement

more than any other govt institution, this could potentially spell disaster. So those are the PTI's wonderful police reforms. Already on their 3rd IG in KP & 4th in PJB (won't count Caretaker setup guys).
