Inslee wanted the ability to disarm you in a state of emergency. There was a piece of legislation this last session that had a clause in it for just that...it was removed.

He didn't get what he wanted there, so he implements 2A infringement this way?

Despicable. 😠 https://twitter.com/rightseattle/status/1290331877165764608
I wonder how the senators who made the agreement with democrats to support for SJR8200 (constitutional amendment that lets Inslee appoint whomever he wants to state positions in the event of any "catastrophic incident"), in exchange for removing that clause feel about this move.
Perhaps @SenSteveO can speak to it? Or @jtwilcox111?

Seems like maybe the people of WA got screwed here pretty badly. 😕
Here's the text of the constitutional amendment if anyone wants to read it for themselves.

Here's the Senate bill that defines "catastrophic incident" so that it includes "man made" events that aren't just "enemy attacks" like the old language did.

This passed last session in part because REPUBLICAN legislators and party officials like @KCGOP endorsed it, despite the fact that it removing significant checks and balances against corruption.
I did my best to alert people to the trouble here back in Jan. 2019.

Now, if the Feds were to uncover significant corruption in our judicial system, Inslee could declare it a "man-made catastrophic incident," and appoint as many CCP cronies as he wanted to any "vacated" seats.
*Correction...NOT this last session, but in 2019.

Sorry about that!
