Have you ever witnessed somebody pretending to be someone they’re not?

You know what I’m talking about.

It’s always awkward & off-putting to watch..

That’s why I want talk about a simple key

To improving relationships & being more likable:

BE YOURSELF
(a thread)

👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Now, I realize how simple this sounds

“Be yourself”

We’ve heard that before.

But what does it really mean?

Well, let’s talk personality types.

Maybe you’re a jock type.

Or maybe you’re a huge nerd.

Maybe you’re an extrovert, and charisma comes naturally to you!
Use that.

Or maybe you’re more introverted like me, and charisma is a learned skill for you.

That’s okay as well.

The point is, whatever you are, be yourself.

When you connect with people, even if it may not come as naturally, they will appreciate your genuine effort.
People who think of themselves as awkward are typically a self-fulfilling prophecy.

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

& if you feel like your people skills are lacking

Just remember, people skills are just that—skills.

Skills can be learned & improved.
So be yourself.

People can feel when you’re not being genuine, or trying to “put on”

& it’s off-putting to everyone, every time.

It’s also not needed.

The truth is

Most people are more likable than they think.

You don’t need to put on a persona to make people like you.
Your tribe is out there.

People that will connect with who YOU are as a person

& the longer you pretend to be someone you’re not

The more time is wasted

That could have been spent reaching people that actually connect with you.

So,

Be yourself.
