Some [serious] thoughts and lessons regarding Covid:
-I wore appropriate PPE all the time at work. Occasionally, I’d forego the gown if the situation didn’t warrant it, but that wasn’t normal. I still caught it.

-Minor symptoms began a few days before the big ones and only 3
days after my last confirmed exposure. Unfortunately, being a medical professional but me in the ass as I could easily attribute those minor symptoms to other things and normal responses by my body.

-It’s been 4 days after my the beginning of my worst symptoms and I’m feeling
much better. Just did a short workout with no issues. I am in pretty good shape with no significant/applicable medical history beyond sleep apnea which is use my machine for religiously. While I am recovering quickly, it is very easy for me to see how two days of bad symptoms
could easily be more and less to death in those with more fragile or compromised systems. Simply put, I am way healthier than most men in my demographic and this kicked my ass for two days straight. Days 3-4 were blah, but nowhere near. The lesson here is that I can see why this
is fucking people up. For me to be that sick, for that long is significant in my medical history.
-It is imperative that you know what your vitals normally run so that you can tell a provider what is not normal for you. My resting HR is in the low 60’s, high 50’s. My BP is damn

near textbook. My O2 sat is usually 98-100. Know what right looks like for you.
-The only thing I’ve taken is Tylenol, Motrin, fluids, and rest. I did get some toradol at the ER. I’m not a big fan of pain meds, not that they were necessary, or any OTC immune boosters, etc. I do

take a daily multivitamin. I have a PA friend who texted me a a bunch of stuff to take, but since I’m on the mend, I didn’t worry about it. Point is, I know that the fever was controlled by day 2 and that being fairly healthy with a robust immune system was helpful. And again,
I am above average for my demo, so it’s easy to see how this is an ass kicker.
The bottom line is that I’m still quarantined and isolating. There are several factors that I believe have led to my recovery, but I’m still waiting for a rebound as this thing is persistent af.

The factors that have led to my fairly quick turnaround are not things that are normal for my age group and people are underestimating how hard this will hit them. Take from this what you will. I feel like I’ve conducted a regrettable experiment on myself, tbh.
Interesting fact: no one in my house or my crew is showing symptoms which leads me to some ideas about viral load, symptoms, and infectious period, but I’m not educated in this field enough to articulate that.
Anyway, so far so good. I’ve felt all the love and love you guys even more for it. Yes, I know I worry you because I’m not a good patient, but I promise you that I won’t do anything that ki....*looks at my job description*...I won’t do anything purposely that’s going to kill me.
