🏹 Thread of why Hawkeye is
NOT useless 🏹

Clinton 'Clint' Francis Barton lost both parents at a young age to drunk driving. Clint was a victim of child abuse from his abusive father. He ran away from the orphanage to join the circus, training from a boy to become exceptional with a bow and arrow training to never miss.
Learning that the circus dealt with crime, he realized he couldn't continue down this path and ran away. SHIELD found him and Fury offered Barton a second chance to use his abilities for good. He quickly grew in the ranks of SHIELD. He easily became one of SHIELD'S top agents.
After being sent to kill Natasha Romanoff after she got on SHIELD's radar in a bad way, Clint chose to spare her life and offered her a second chance with SHIELD as he looked after her and befriended her. If it weren't for Clint, Natasha would have been killed by SHIELD long ago.
Hawkeye had the perfect opportunity to kill THOR, had he wanted to! When Odin stripped Thor's power, he became mortal, taking away his healing factor. Clint could have easily killed him with one arrow in that moment in Thor (2011). If not for Hawkeye, Thor would be dead.
Hawkeye practically took down the freaking Helicarrier with TWO ARROWS!!
When Earth was under attack by an alien army, Hawkeye was there on the frontlines, doing just as well as the other Avengers.

Hawkeye has proven himself to be a formidable opponent, being able to fight just as well as his fellow superhero counterparts, despite his lack of powers
Arrows aren't everything. Clint is highly skilled in various formats of martial arts. He's an expert acrobat and gymnist. With keen eyesight and hand-eye-coordination, he can use nearly anything as a weapon and hurl objects with extreme accuracy and speed directly or rebounding.
He's not called 'Hawkeye' and the 'World's Greatest Marksman' for nothing. With a bow and arrow, Clint has pushed himself to never miss. With various trickshot arrows ranging from explosive arrows, shock arrows, and many more (by his design), he is extremely deadly with a bow.
Clint is a husband and has raised THREE kids. On top of Avengeing, Clint managed to balance family life without screwing up his kid's lives. In many ways, that’s a greater feat than anything any of the other Avengers have done.
Hawkeye's focus was on helping civilians the best he could, and took down many Chitauri (even some without looking🔥) during the Battle of NY.

He basically helped alot in taking down Loki at the end by shooting him out of the sky, in which Hulk finished him off.
He gave hope and encouraged Wanda Maximoff despite her actions. With his iconic "the city is flying" speech, he explains that he's going back out to fight, despite having no powers, because it's his duty. He gave Wanda a second chance to do good and become an Avenger.
He fought off the last of HYDRA and Ultron's killer psycho robot army, saving many lives in Sokovia (and the world) with nothing but a bow and some arrows!
Clint was willing to give up his own life in order to save the life of a random little kid he didn't even know.
He came out of retirement to help Captain America stop the other winter soldiers, even if it made him a fugitive. He temporarily stunned Vision and even though he got his ass kicked, he had faith in Wanda, again encouraging and empowering her to "get off her ass."
He was able to handle himself well against the other superheroes in Civil War. Even able to take on Iron Man himself. Yes technically Team Cap lost, but the goal wasn't to win the fight it was to get Cap to the Quinjet which they ultimately succeeded in doing.
He lost his entire family from the Snap.

He became Ronin, a vigilante who stopped criminals and cartels (essentially like Punisher and DP).

Despite his actions, Natasha gave Clint hope that there was a chance at bringing everyone back, in which he would return to help the team.
Despite the risks and danger, Clint volunteered to test the time travel suit when Scott was scared. Regardless if it didn't work or not, Clint was willing to do anything to get his family back.
He lost the last thing that meant everything to him, Natasha. "You must lose that which you love." If Clint didn't love Natasha, her sacrifice wouldn't have worked. He tried so hard to not let Natasha die. Jumping off the cliff shows that he was willing to do "Whatever it takes."
Clint and Nat often get called the weakest Avengers, but they would not have gotten the Soul Stone, or let alone have saved the universe, if it weren't for them and their sacrifices made on Vormir. Out of all the Time Heist groups, Clint and Nat arguably had the hardest task.
Even after still grieving the loss of his lifelong best friend, he was still determined to bring everybody back and suited up with the rest of his team.

Clint survived the massive bombardment of Thanos' ship that blew up the entire mansion, leaving him with the Nanogauntlet.
Left stranded underground with the Nanogauntlet, Hawkeye fought off a hoard of Outrider aliens.

Keeping the gauntlet away from Thanos' army, he was successful in fighting off many aliens while still keeping the stones safe. Had it not been for him, the stones would've been lost
The Avengers finally defeat Thanos and his army for good, at a great cost.

Clint's final scene is him reflecting with Wanda about how he wishes he could tell Nat that they won. It shows how much he truly cared for not only his team, but for Natasha and her sacrifice.
I hope this thread was able to show how much of an importance he truly had on the MCU, despite the hate he wrongfully gets.

Hawkeye's incredible fighting skills, determination, compassion, and down-to-earth character make him a valuable part of the team and certainly NOT USELESS
The story of Hawkeye isn't over yet.

In the upcoming Hawkeye series coming to Disney+ he will finally get the spotlight to himself in which we'll see Clint shine on his own and mentor the young Kate Bishop as he shepherds and trains her to possibly take up the mantle of Hawkeye.
