- says he’s scared from the get go bc he’s been shot before
- says multiple times he’s not resisting
- verbally apologizing (signs of wanting to comply but being afraid)

- he was still in handcuffs the entire time
- we know from the toxicology report he was on drugs, this may explain a lot of his heightened behavior & anxiety but that doesn’t mean cops should end his life

- yesterday a PA man was arrested, alive, after shooting at police with an AK-47. We know police should be capable of de-escalating without a knee to the neck

- ^ that PA man’s been written about with the context that he’s “having a hard time adjusting to the pandemic”. But we stop mentioning when a black man is reasonably afraid for his life the moment he encounters police

- A social worker, drug counselor, psychiatrist, could all have de-escalated this better than police. He was rightfully afraid, because he was dead minutes later, & he needed help from someone other than police.
