let's discuss: pro-life vs pro-choice
tw/ suicide death violence against women honor killings
first let's break both down. prolife supporters don't support abortion (want it to be illegal) bc the fetus could have a life. prochoicers believe in women's autonomy over their bodies. they believe that every1 should choose for themselves+
now important disclaimer is that pro-choice does NOT encourage abortion. abortion is mentally a tough experience and no one is getting pregnant only to do it for fun. pro-choice means that even if u personally dont see yourself ever getting one you recognizes that some1 might+
ppl call themselves prolife usually for two reasons: they think the fetus (or child how they call it) has the right to live n want to protect the fetus or/and because of religion. +
it is true that fetus would become a child and most likely live but ask yourself at what and whose expenses? women carry the child for nine (9) months and it does not only affect the body but also the mind. even if u give up the child for adoption it'll be an experience+
you simply cannot forget (n for some for all the wrong reasons). a lot of prolife supporters say rape is the only exception. forcing women to go through a pregnancy in all case except when their bodies are violated tells a lot about how u view women. now one thing I really want +
to talk about is women in conservatives countries n communities. a LOT of people cannot have sex before marriage n it's a big taboo. having a child out of wedlock is considered huge (negative) thing in lot of places and women not only get disowned but sometimes killed(!!) for it+
they are called honour killings (pls google and educate urself) and happen to "restore the families honour". they happen in modern day. women either commit suicide or go thru very dangerous unhygienic abortions. illegalizing abortions doesn't reduce it, it only forces+
women to go thru things that are far more horrible (n have a much higher death risk) than safe abortion under medical professionals who know what they're doing. if you are pro-LIFE why would u want to women to die? i'm yet to see a pro-lifer answering this question:
is an unborn fetus' potential life and possibility to live more important than the women who already live? isn't the life of a women who not only live but have emotions, brains, future, more important? isn't the wellbeing of said women important? I'd like genuine answers
also some women cannot simply carry a child till the end of pregnancy due to complications n health issues. there's a LOT of reasons why one cannot have a child and we, others who aren't in that persons shoes, CANNOT understand. we dont know what life a woman has n why she cant+
have a child. forcing women to give up on their lives and careers in cases where making of the child was an accident is, to me, absurd. once again pro-choice ≠ pro-abortion. I'd not stand for popularizing it as a plan B. it's simply about respecting women n their lives.
I'd like to end this by saying that logically thinking giving women who want abortions the right to have one safely would not raise the amounts of abortions done rather it'd lower the deaths of women who die due to this topic.
