Regardless, I do know that I like Alex's story if the ApostleCorp ending is canon: she didn't care about anything and never took sides for free because why bother, and then she found her Cause in the most unexpected place. The only thing I don't like is that DNA thing.
Can I just say? Nepotism is boring as hell. I think that's why the Unique And Special Magical Babies in media are so annoying: they just inherit all of the adventures, they didn't have to develop a personality to deserve an ineresting story, so they almost never do.
But back to Alex D. Why did she even have to be related to Dentons? What if she was a complete stranger or lab rat №246 no one paid attention to? And the only reason she got involved in the plot was because, say, someone destroyed Chicago and Billie really wanted to know why?
You could start with Alex mostly listening to everyone and not saying (or even thinking) much herself, but the more she unravels, the more she understands that she can't stay outside of it all and she has to pick a side and do something. Like Billie did.
I wish they had the discussion of final options like in DX with either Paul or Savage, but this time with NG Resonance who's as cheerful as ever. Would've been even cooler if she sounded catious while talking about JC's plan because she's... kind of scared he'll eliminate her.
IDK, I can practically see it: Alex D sitting in the deserted Alex Jacobson office on the floor with her legs crossed, right in front of Aquinas, and she looks at NG that's using the computer that somehow survived the Collapse simply because Alex J is THAT good.
Another cool thing would've been if Paul had helped you in some way before you made your final decision, knowing full well you could be his enemy, but you can't figure out if that was an act of sincerity or a manipulation technique.
The saddest thing is, neither can Paul.
GO AWAY, PAUL, THIS THREAD ISN'T ABOUT YOU
Anyway, I like the DXIW writing: it's bizzare, it's fun, it's dumb in a smart way. But they could've done so much more with Alex D. I know this because JC seems like a really boring, one-note character, but he's actually immensly interesting. Wish Alex was as well *sigh*
