In 1760, after Abdalli's sixth invasion, Sadashivrao Bhau was entrusted with the mission to confront him. This eventually led to the 3rd Battle of Panipat on January 14, 1761.
Bhau laid down his life on the plains of Panipat.

Note, #Pune's well known 'Sadashiv Peth' is named after Sadashivrao Bhau. It was built in the second half of 18th century, as the city expanded towards the west and north.
