At turning points in history I am sure most people thought there would be a quick return to normal. Over by Christmas, the Phoney War, the credit crunch, the Euro crisis.

Only in retrospect is it clear what absolutely catastrophic explosion of turd had just been unleashed.

When we accidentally fell into lockdown and we laughed at South Derbyshire police for pretending they're robocop. People are now unable to go to the shops without becoming kapos, spoiling for a fight over a facemask.

And that is just the start, the demands for permanent furlough, because no one should be allowed to suffer from a virus. And Boris's need to be liked will see him thunder his spaff all over the economy without so much as a pair of goggles for the taxpayer.

We will end up in an unproductive semi-vegetative state in our little Chinese built support sacs floating around in our own filth delighted that no one has died of Covid for years.
