Gotta say, The Cost is my most-anticipated release of the year. It isn& #39;t even here, and already I have about a hundred things I want to say about it.
Back to the Future: Back in Time does a surprisingly good job of evoking its source material. As a game, it& #39;s serviceable. Review: https://spacebiff.com/2020/07/29/back-to-the-future/">https://spacebiff.com/2020/07/2...
Some quick takes: still working through Dawn of the Zeds (it& #39;s four or five "levels"), and I& #39;m loving it. Pax Viking is looking better with each iteration, and I believe it& #39;s pretty "stable" now.
We had probably our meanest play of Dale of Merchants thus far. Lots of theft and blocking. Still love how this approaches DBGs, including winnowing and scoring. Review from earlier: https://spacebiff.com/2020/03/19/dale-of-merchants/">https://spacebiff.com/2020/03/1...
Fort online. The module on TTS is pretty good, although of course that& #39;s always a pale imitation of the real thing. Taught it to a new player, and despite some missteps he seemed to like it. Review: https://spacebiff.com/2020/07/15/fort/">https://spacebiff.com/2020/07/1...
And two more quick takes. Irish Gauge: fascinating, tight, player-driven, even Knizian. Jaws of the Lion: this is Gloomhaven for busy people. Love the truncated setup and the sense that we& #39;re getting into it much faster.
