Years ago there was a State Farm commercial where a woman finds her husband on the phone at 3am. She grabs the phone and demands to know who it is. An agent says, “Jake from State Farm.” The wife, not believing him, facetiously asks what he’s wearing. He responds, “Uh khakis.”

The commercial eventually stopped airing, but recently they brought it back, and for some reason recast Jake From State Farm.

This would have already been strange. But then they added this extra part WITH OLD JAKE FROM STATE FARM.

So, my question is this: What the fuck? Are they both Jake From State Farm now? Is every State Farm Agent a Jake? Why did they so desperately need to keep the name Jake? Someone please help.
