Alright. There will follow few good examples of how Brann can easily be recognized as the most chaotic club from Norway.
But first: History! Brann is the pride of Bergen, Norway - the second largest city and the country's first capital city. It's also called "The city between the seven mountains". It's almost always rainy there. They play it’s games at Brann Stadion (18.000).
In the medieval times the city was known as "Bjørgvin" and it was a power centre in Europe due to import/export of particularly fish and other valuable goods. The black plague came to this city in 1349 and nearly destroyed the country. "Bryggen" is a world heritage monument.
But the people of Bergen are proud and amongst the fans the general chant is: "Bergen ut av Norge" which means "Bergen out of Norway", and the fans themselves like to address the city as the "Republic of Norway". It's still a beautiful city - one of the most beautiful in Europe!
The club, although every chance to succeed, have yet to do so. They've only won the norwegian top flight three times: 1962, '63 & 2007. They've won the cup six times, lastly in 2004. They did manage to reach the quarter finals in the Cup Winners Cup in 96-97 (lost to Liverpool).
In the 80s they were recognized as a "jojo-team", going up and down between the top flight and first division. In the 90s they tried and tried, but could not dethrone Rosenborg BK, who were in a league of their own. They managed to lose 10-0 away to RBK two years in a row🙈
In 1993 they hired Hallvar Thoresen, a club legend at PSV, as their new manager. He lasted two years at the club. In his third season, 13 rounds into the season, they were on a losing streak, having lost six in a row.
About to lose their seventh in a row the board decided to sack Hallvar Thoresen during half time of the game vs. @ikstart (!!) 🤪 At half time - are you f'n kidding me?😂
That very same '95-season there was more chaos. Trond Egil Soltvedt was one of the most popular players at the club. He was sacked by the board due to "illoyality", the board refusing to elaborate on this. This prompted a demonstration from fans supporting Soltvedt.
To make it worse: TES went on to sign for arch rivals Rosenborg BK, helping them solidify themselves in the Champions League, beating AC Milan 2-1 at San Siro amongst other accomplishments. He went on to have a career in the Premiership (Coventry/Sheff Wed/Southampton).
In 2002 Brann signed South African Toni Nhleko, but he only lasted a few games. He got sunstroke during a match in Bergen (!!!) and although scoring a fantastic goal, is to this day regarded one of the biggest busts at Brann.
In 2007 Mons Ivar Mjelde, a former star player and hometown hero, managed to lead Brann to the league title after 44 years. The following season Brann struggled in the league and people were questioning MIM's leadership abilities (!!)
Similar to the current situation there were rumours of MIM losing the locker room. The answer? The board at that time decided to fire MIM's assistant coach, whilst MIM stayed on. He lasted only a few months after that before getting the sack himself.
A famous local TV-pundit once called Brann "Helpers of the lost souls" because they _always_ managed to lose games to the teams that needed three points the most, even though they had lots of stakes in it themselves. A team that couldn't cope with pressure etc...
Has it always been bad? No. They have produced some fine players through the years, Thorstein Helstad a great example of that, and bought others and moulding them into top players before selling them to big clubs abroad, like Paul Scharner and Seyi Olofinjana i.e.
📽️In 2008 Brann played in the UEFA Cup and destroyed Deportivo La Coruña in Bergen and nearly shocked them away, ultimately losing on penalties.

If you want to see highlights of that game (that Brann should've won 5-0), you can find it here:
That's just a few examples of the top of my mind. I still want Brann to succeed and win the league again and again. I used to be at the terraces every weekend when I lived in Bergen for 8 years as a season ticket holder. I hope whomever takes the helm can help bring back success!
