Are we really going to continue letting the Packers starting running back in 2021 fall to the late 2nd round of dynasty rookie drafts?

🚨 A thread and film review on AJ Dillon! 🚨
A reminder of how he fared at the combine!
Let's take a look at his closest comp Derrick Henry. You may be surprised to see how close their combine numbers were; https://twitter.com/NickDynastyff/status/1233608659625762816?s=20
Let's review some film!

Dillon makes a nice cut, finds the hole and barrels through the line. Nice sidestep on the safety before he is dragged down by 3 defenders
Again Dillon blasts through the hole vs Clemson here, spins off of the linebacker and gains 5 more yards before being taken down. Dillon consistently fights for extra yardage
Quick nimble feet here by Dillon as he moves through the trash always moving forwards. Make sure to watch this one a couple times 2 clips in one GIF here.

Bold take here, but his feet and agility, spin move remind me somewhat of Jerome Bettis (at times đź‘€)
Here Dillon shows nice agility which is surprising given his large frame.
I think his pass catching is a bit underrated. Pretty soft hands for a big dude. I'd argue that he is already further ahead than Derrick Henry at the same age.
My goodness that's all I'll say. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Listen I get it. A Jones is extremely talented and could be tagged next year by the Packers as well.

However with the uncertainty of the salary cap in 2021, with the possibility of it actually dropping, chance of Jones returning significantly diminishes.
Dillon is a 2nd round pick, hes going to play in 2020.

I think too many are down on Dillon due to his percieved crowded landing spot.

I've written about rookies falling in drafts before due to landing spot before and how that's a mistake. https://www.dynastyfootballlife.com/talent-vs-landing-spot
It appears that Matt Lafleur might be trying to replicate his Titans and D Henry led offense in 2018 now with the Packers. (Yes I'm aware that it took until about week 14 before Henry was fully unleashed. )
Dillon is currently being drafted as the RB 42 and 119 overall as of July, after running backs such as Sony Michel, Cohen and Kerryon. That is tremendous value at his current ADP and I suggest buying him now before that cost begins to rise!
Thank you I hope you enjoyed this quick look at AJ Dillon! 🙏
