1. Let’s talk about the phrase “black on black crime” I have seen a rise in its usage by white people as well as non-black minorities (including African immigrants). It is a racist statement and a form of racialized gaslighting whenever it is used. I’ll explain briefly:
2. White people have an ancestral history that includes the kidnapping, enslavement, rape, torture, murder, & terrorism of black people over generations. Not only that, but once black people were granted freedom, white people consistently stole or destroyed all wealth accumulated
3. On top of the generational brutality/destruction white people oppressed black community with, white people weren’t done. They then created Jim Crow laws to keep black people in a state of despair & hopelessness & w/ that established racist housing laws that created ghettos.
4. Still not done, white America then imported drugs and guns into these oppressed & depressed communities along with laws of criminality that would ensure black fathers werE removed from the home & place them in prison leaving children to grow up fatherless & balck men stuck.
5. Racist housing policies were put in place to lock black people into poverty & then drugs were brought into community to help black people “cope”, but laws put laws put in place to then lock black people up who used drugs, and w/ a record, better job opportunities removed.
6. Stay with me, it all connects.

Airtight cage of poverty, drugs imported in, fathers removed from homes, an atmosphere of rage & depair cultivated, guns brought into community (you think poor black people imported huge loads of guns into their communities themselves 😒).
7. STILL, with all of this, a perfect storm of criminality, poverty, despair, and violence cultivated; when we look at the ACTUAL statistics regarding the amount of crime that happens in black communities vs white communities the numbers show that they’re isn’t much difference!
8. What we do see is that despite the statistics being very close b/t black & white communities, black people are the ones in the street protesting and raising awareness trying to end violence in their communities. Protests against community violence far outnumber BLM protests.
9. Black Christian pastors like @CharlieDates have long sought to be on front lines of community engagement long before any “woke movement” or BLM ever existing as an organization.

Yet, white Christians born from slave holding traditions want to talk abt “black on black crime”.
10. At end of the day, White people, we can even say specifically say white Christians; have sought to destroy the black family & black community for several hundred years. They’ve created current climate of despair & hopeless within the black community that leads to violence.
11. For white people to weaponize the suffering & death of black people thru using terms like “black on black crime” to dismiss racial injustice is manipulative, abusive, & all around hypocritical/evil. None of those who say it have been to a black community anti-violence rally.
12. The phrase “black on black crime” is a racist statement and is a phrase that is part of the long thread of white supremacy that continues to be woven into the frabic of America. Non-black minorities who use phrase are also enabling white supremacy, and they need to stop. ✌🏽❤️
