Growing up, one of the most helpful things I've learnt is power of writing. A lot of times, one will be arrogant to think he/she has mastered an idea or a concept. Try putting it to paper and you'll see the shock of your life.
The shock will start when you take pen and paper, thinking you can produce a whole thesis on a subject matter. Only to see that you cannot make a coherent paragraph.
The shock will increase when u notice that even withing the one-short paragraph you've written, the argument is incoherent. If u manage to deceive yourself by erasing the weaker argument -in order to maintain a level of coherence, u'll notice how a paragraph has become 1 sentence
Let's assume you're very verbose and can easily expand a sentence into 3 sentences virtually saying the same thing. You'll start to notice that grammar is becoming the an enemy. You start to write useless things things like "This unique idea is very unique and peculiar because.."
Such redundant lines are not even the beginning of your probelm. You'll start to feel very insecured when u write contradictory sentences like: "Although feminism is universally defined as bla bla, it has many different definitions depending on country".
Btw, u'r still in par 1.
Now you notice that there is only one God, and u decide to do the honorable thing which is to Google and read a couple of excerpts. U decide to just copy their ideas.
Suddenly, u notice ur a virtually a plagiarism machine with no original thoughts. So u decide to paraphrase thins
In order to feel "unique", you decide to juxtapose two solid articles in attempt to come up with a hybrid that will save you the internal disgrace your going through. With this u manage to go to paragraph 2. Halfway there, you decide to read what you've written thus far. Chaos!
One thing becomes very clear, paragraph 1 is (for all intents and purposes) in a civil war wit paragraph 2. Chaos! Now which one do u erase, after all, they were all copied for someone's paper anyway. That's when misplaced anger will start to come up. U blame the articles/writers
U don't blame them outwardly coz you're alone till now. Sudden ur friend ask what you're doing that u look soo sad and frustrated, u decide to lie 🤥 that "this author is writing incoherent shit". Meanwhile, u hide your draft, away from anythin that could breathe. Even a tiny fly
You think the fly part was an exaggeration, but trust me, when ur in that state of self-arrogance-inflicted inferiority complex, even a fly looking at u, you'll take it personal. And start frowning at the insect. Anwyay. Ur friend gets the vibe and leaves. Now ur sad & lonely.
The departure of ur friend & the fly you've killed are emblematic of ur state of mind. U, that argued Amina and Olawolu the other day and people were cheering and clapping at ur vast knowledge, ur now consumed in ur ignorance. What do you do? Delete .doc file and empty recybin?
I'll advice you. No! Don't cover ur ignorance with arrogance. Learn the art of writing. Learn to critique urself and argue ideas from within urself. Listen to ppl. Listen to "other side". Read and read. Then write as often as u can.
Rinse and repeat 🔂 again and again.

OK. Bye!
