There is really no question releasing a book from March onward this year *sucks*, and as someone with her first novel in five years out in 2021, I promise I get it. I feel it! All the time!
But please remember that authors *debuted* into this. They need constant help.

I feel like there's a little bit of a lack of perspective going on among published authors and again, I get the *awful* feelings, but you have the time and space to lift authors in worse situations while you're promoting your own stuff that your existing audience will find.
If you're an established author, whether you have a book out this year or not, I urge you to "adopt" a 2020 debut or two to regularly promote, even if it's just RTing them once a week. You don't even have to tell them, or add commentary. Just help them be seen.
I obviously don't have names of every 2020 debut, but you can find a bunch here (and I'll work on building the lists up today):
MG: https://bookshop.org/lists/2020-mg-debuts
YA: https://bookshop.org/lists/2020-ya-debuts
Adult: https://bookshop.org/lists/2020-adult-debuts

And of course there are debut group sites that'll be a lot more thorough, at least for kidlit:

And actually, may as well get it here, right?
If you're a 2020 debut, feel free to reply here with *one* tweet about your book, and for the love of coffee, *include at least one buy link*!
