We published #TheatreSearch earlier today - a free resource for freelance producers and independent theatre companies. Theatre Search maps the new UK theatre landscape as we recover from Covid-19 documenting closures, re-openings and collating programming information. 1/18

We are responding to all update requests from venues and individuals so the data is as relevant and usable as possible. 2/18

Our research shows that only 9% of UK venues are currently open for any activity, while 79% of UK venues are unable to open or plan for a reopening date.

We have used Arts Council regions to categorise the venues including @CreativeScots @Arts_Wales_ @ArtsCouncilNI as well as @ace_national who funded the research, helping producers to navigate the data and allowing us to compare UK recovery across the different regions 4/??

We hope that this data can join the ongoing lobbying efforts to help support the industry and target the bailout money where it is needed most. 5/18

The Scottish lockdown has been stricter and the government has just announced relaxation dates in Scotland for restrictions around outdoor and indoor performance so we do expect these stats to change for the better in the near future. 14/18
