Black people have a variety of issues in this country; both internally and externally motivated.

The mainstream is often indifferent and judgmental of these issues and can be slow to help.

So why are Black people’s efforts to remedy their own issues always seen as divisive? 1/
We have to tolerate “debate” about our supposed inherent violence and lack of IQ, but overt efforts to have pride in our culture and remedy our struggles is seen as divisive?

What isn’t divisive about what Black people do?

2/
Even the typical examples of America’s benevolence, Oprah, Obama, Beyoncé, athletes are never quite good enough not to be tagged as divisive.

So please stop viewing these issues through your personal emotional lens and appreciate them as steps in OUR journey and history.

I understand all the ideals and ideologies, but real life requires practical actions. It’s not a word equation where the goal is to make the words match in every scenario.

Intent matters. History matters. People don’t face the same constellation of variables.

I understand the sincere hope of many to overcome racial divides, but defaulting back to your feelings about the labels diminishes the importance of what is being shared with you.

Honestly, it makes it difficult to separate you from bad actors and those with malicious intent.

I’m sure it’s uncomfortable for you, but the fault is with our forefathers that didn’t deal with these issues so it’s our job. If we don’t deal with it, it’ll be our children’s job.

This is life and it’s messy. I hate talking about this 💩but the questions never end.
