Discovered something alarming in the backyard of Wikipedia and you should know too.
I had told you how Wiki editors have created cartels to earn money through Wikipedia (See thread below).
Now, one of the biggest cartels has nominated their top boss to be an Admin.

Thread begins https://twitter.com/Soumyadipta/status/1235098631738281984
Who's this? His alias is #Newslinger. He runs one of the biggest cartels on Wikipedia.
Remember that most editors on Wikipedia operates with an alias. Masking one's real identity and operating from behind a veil of anonymity is one of the founding principles of Wikipedia editing.
Thanks to the succesful nomination, Newslinger, is now an Administrator on Wikipedia.
What is an Administrator?
In the hierarchy of editors on Wikipedia, an administrator is the uppermost echelon. He can delete entire pages, block other editors and protect pages from being edited
To be a Wiki Admin, you need to be nominated & editors need to vote for you and support you on the "Talk Page" (a page for discussion on an issue or topic)
He received support from 135 editors while 4 people opposed him. Those four were confronted.
Result: He was made Wiki Admin.
Here's the "Talk Page" for Newslinger's nomination. See how cartel members trooped in a coordinated manner to support him. They never mentioned the complaints of bias against him. They described him with words such as "asset" & "Great Candidate".

Why #Newslinger becoming an Admin should is alarming?
He's has led a gang to create propaganda & remove content that don't align with his ideology.
Just look at his edits in this August.
His team has edited the page "Jai Shree Ram" which says that it is a "war cry of Hindus"
This is how the page Jai Shree Ram indicates that the "slogan" is used by Hindu extremists to perpetrate communal violence.
In other words, when Hindus riot they chant #JaiShriRam. It's a propaganda to create a similar chant that another community uses during religious wars.
Newslinger's uncanny interest in the #JaiShriRam page has made several editors raise concerns.
Newsliger has stalked other Wiki editors who has attempted to edit the page and has reversed their edits. Newslinger has also engaged with the editors who have raised concerns
Newslinger is a bully and I am a victim of his bullying. Wikipedia has done nothing about it.
After I wrote a thread about Wikipedia, Newslinger sent me an email informing me that I am banned from the platform.
He invited me to engage with him on a talk page.
I chose not to.
He sent me message after message to convince me to engage with him on Wikipedia.
It was a ploy to confront me and unleash his gang of editors on me. It's his bullying method.
See a screenshot of my mailbox and how many messages he sent.
That's right: 7 messages in 24 hours!
Newslinger has also tried in the past to blacklist OpIndia from Wikipedia. The editor of OpIndia has @UnSubtleDesi has tweeted about it too. I remember that he had put out a long rant on his Wikipedia user page about why OpIndia should be black-listed https://twitter.com/UnSubtleDesi/status/1236173233688174592?s=20
Why am I talking about Newslinger? I have done exposes on Wikipedia as a platform.
I also want to tell you about kinds of users who are rewarded by the Wikipedia eco-system.
Wikipedia shuts off complaints of corruption, harassment and bullying if the user's ideology is anti-Right
Harassment is like a "company policy" of Wikipedia but few talk about it. Editors gang up and target "smaller" editors. These harassers are rewarded.
#Newslinger is one of the icons of harassment on this platform and he has been rewarded as an Admin with sweeping editorial rights
Here's a conversation between Newslinger and another editor where Newslinger tells this editor to cite references from The Wire as primary source.
He specifically says that @SwarajyaMag, @OpIndia_com and @tfipost are unreliable and generally not accepted as reliable sources.
Here's a conversation where Newslinger is defaming me & boasts that he had my Wikipedia page deleted.
He says that I had paid users to create my wikipedia page which is patently false.
I had spoken about how I figured out paid editing on Wiki. He used that information against me.
Here's another screenshot where he implies that I had submitted the information about #DBigXRay to @UnSubtleDesi. DBigXRay is his gang-member who has now quit Wikipedia.
Following which he decided to blacklist @OpIndia_com.
He continues to defame me in several conversations.
Newslinger says that he had placed many editors on checklist because their user names contained the word "Rahul". Let me remind you that @rahulroushan is the CEO of @OpIndia_com.
So, understand the operations that he's in. He lists the IP addresses of several such users publicly.
Please remember that he is using my real name and revealing IP addresses and locations of other people while he is hiding behind a cloak of anonymity. He's bullying me too.
He along with his cartel of editors have destroyed a wonderful platform called Wikipedia.
